Sometimes I get an urge to rock out to this song. By “sometimes” I mean “practically every day since seventh grade”

I only knew “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World until they co-headlined with Taking Back Sunday sophomore year of high school. My friends and I would sing this around school everyday leading up to and after that show.

“Sweetness” by Tokyo Police Club (feat. Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit) // Originally by Jimmy Eat World

Continuing with their 10 Covers/10 Days/ 10 Years project started yesterday with the cover of Moby’s “South Side”, today Tokyo Police Club go back to a soft spot of mine by diving into Jimmy Eat World’s “Bleed American” days (I’m a sucker for Clarity and Bleed American) and they bring with them Michael Angelakos of Passion Pit to sweeten the deal. Definitely worth a listen. Subscribe to Tokyo Police Club’s Soundcloud page for each new cover.

Things that I love: Tokyo Police Club, music retrospectives, well-done covers, and Polaroids. Yep, this makes me all kinds of happy.

It’s also fun to think about choosing one song to embody an entire year. When they (you know..the people of the future) look back at 2011, I wonder what song they will pick…thoughts anyone?

What matters is what hasn’t been

My darling, believe your voice can mean something

I’m here. I’m now. I’m ready. Holding on tight. Don’t give away the end. One thing that stays mine.
